Description

Second cut at an image of Orion from 3/27/22 at the Natural Bridge State Park with other club members.  I never got all my gear set up the way I want, but did get enough done to get this image.  This is from a William Optics GT71 scope.  Main astro camera was a ZWO ASI294MC Pro and my guide camera was ASI120mm-S.  I used an Intel NUC miniPC at the scope to run everything.  I had a second one, for inside the car, but never got that setup.

Used an iOptron polar camera for polar alignment.  PHD2 was used for tracking via a USB connection to the hand controller on the AVX mount.  The ASI294MC camera has a cooler, but I never got that set up either.  This scope has an EAF focuser, but that was not tightened correctly, so has to use manual knobs for focus.  I have a small 8 inch monitor I used at the scope PC to see what is going on (this would normally be done inside the car).  ASICAP from the ASI Studio set was used for all image capture.  I used the Auto Run option to take each exposure about 5 seconds apart.  I had a different ZWO camera I wanted to use, but decided that the change out in the darkness was not a good idea.

The image is cropped a bit to bring it in closer.
This image is from 53 captures taken from about 9:43 to 10:02.  Each was a 16 second capture with a gain of 116.  Images process with Pixinsight and Apple Edit.  It was late and cold, so we packed up and headed home.
